Why We Built Subject-Themed Notebooks for Medical Students
The story behind Prescribed — from a medical student's frustration to subject-wise, unruled notebooks.
By Kuber Pujar · MBBS student, founder of Prescribed, creator of MedxKuber
Short answer
Prescribed exists because ordinary notebooks fight the way medicine is learned: anatomy needs free space, pharmacology needs repeated structure, and no generic notebook offered either. Each Prescribed notebook is themed and templated for one MBBS subject.
Prescribed started as a complaint every medical student has made: why does no notebook work for what we actually do all day?
The problem with generic notebooks
Ruled pages fight anatomy diagrams. A5 pages shrink a drug table into unreadability. Thin paper bleeds under highlighters. And nothing on the shelf acknowledged that a Physiology notebook and a Forensic Medicine notebook are used completely differently.
The idea
Prescribed is a medical stationery brand built around one structure: one notebook per subject, each templated for how that subject is actually studied. Anatomy gets free space for full-page diagrams. Pharmacology gets the class → mechanism → uses → adverse-effects rhythm. Medicine gets the case-sheet skeleton.
Who's behind it
Prescribed was founded by Kuber Pujar, an MBBS student and the medical content creator behind MedxKuber. The products are designed from inside medical college — lectures, postings, revision seasons — not from a stationery company's guess about it. You can read the full story on our About page.
